Update: Alex Gordon slams first professional homer!

In the bottom of the fifth inning of today's AFL game between the Surprise Scorpions and Grand Canyon Rafters, RC #1 prospect Alex Gordon hit his first professional home run, a two-run shot to center field off of Matt Smith. Congratulations, Alex!

Editor's note: After going 2-for-4 today with yet another walk, Gordon has his batting average at .300 for the first time. His current line, as we figure, is .300/.440/.500. Not a bad start for his first seven professional games!

Hey sounds like Alex is doing pretty well. That's good. I hope that he can keep this kind of play up! .300 hitter already, huh? I guess we better just go ahead and start him off in AA-Wichita next season.
